What's Chinoiserie?
In the 17th century, Chinoiserie evolved as a decorative art movement born from Europe’s fascination with the Far East. Inspired by Chinese porcelain, silk, lacquerware, and hand-painted wallpapers and panels. It unfolds in imagined landscapes of birds, flowers, and gardens that radiates elegance, artistry, and timeless confidence.Chinoiserie is defined by luminous gradients that exist between stylization and nature. The work is executed with three traditional animal-hair brushes. There are twin brushes—one for water, another for pigment—allowing color to bloom and dissolve organically. A slender long-tipped third brush reserved for the finest details and line work. The paintings are created on authentic materials such as rice paper or silk, where natural ink and pigment interact to produce subtle, living effects.
